From the VP of Sales and Marketing,
PHMSA has written a ruling regulating that a weak link should always be used during any trenchless excavation work. Cumberland Products offers an engineered Weak Link designed to fail before standard polyethylene pipe while pulling during boring operations. It is available in medium or high density at either 20% of the original PE pipe strength or with the conservative ASTM F1804 Standard Practice for Determining Allowable Tensile Load for Polyethylene Gas Pipe During Pull-In Installation. A Mud Plug is also offered to prevent backfilling of debris into the line being pulled if the Weak Link should fail. For more information on Cumberland Product’s Weak Link and Mud Plug email info@cgs-inc.com or visit the Cumberland Products page.
